Mention Northumberland seabirds, and you immediately think of the Farne
Islands. It is with out doubt, one of the most spectacular sanctuaries
for many species that come each year to breed. A photographer's
paradise, where there must be many metres of film exposed on these
wonderful sea birds. It makes life so much easier being able to
approach to with in a few meters, without causing any disturbance. The
greatest downfall on some occasions, can be the boat crossing and the
weather, especially if there are prevailing Easterly winds.
One of my favourite sea life creatures are the terrestrial mammals
the seals. Looking somewhat like a sorrowful dog, Atlantic Grey
Seal are on the increase along many coastal habitats. I have visited
quite a few colonies both in Scotland, and here in the North East of
England, but none can compare with the Lincolnshire Coast.
